The home of the provincial capital of Cavite, the City of Trece Martires is developing a 1.8-hectare property known as Bagong Trece People’s Park into an inclusive, welcoming, active cultural and civic destination.
Located at Barangay Lapidario, the site enveloping a green space is bounded by a river on the eastern side and situated near SM Trece Martires and other residential & commercial establishments.
Trece People’s Park Features
Boldly visualized as a new destination for social interactions where activities, recreation, and community will intersect, Bagong Trece People’s Park features a gymnasium, convention center, government building (Bureau of Fire Protection), and an outdoor amphitheater which was funded by the Department of Budget and Management under the Green Green Green Fund assistance program.
Ecohaven, the landscape architecture firm of Bagong Trece People’s Park, has shaped the design development process, emphasizing the connection to the surrounding and diverse community.

Trece Martires People’s Park Groundbreaking Ceremony
In an unveiling ceremony led by City Mayor Gemma Buendia-Lubigan, together with the members of the Team Bagong Trece last September 13, 2021, the park is envisioned to be the city’s premier sports and recreational destination.

“The plan includes the gymnasium, outdoor amphitheater, grand plaza, bike lanes, joggers’ lane, skate park, children’s playground, outdoor fitness area, and retail and outdoor dining,” stated Mayor Lubigan.
Additionally, the project will use the city government’s funds from the residents’ tax payments.

Bagong Trece People’s Park aims to maximize green open spaces and actively engage the community in an area with diverse leisure and recreational amenities for human activities that can take place among nature.
To further provide physical and experiential enhancements, Ecohaven will make the space accessible and bike-friendly by strategically placing a coherent road network with bike lanes and parking spaces.
In addition, the provision of spacious walkways and bike lanes is expected to initiate a walkable and safe environment for the community.

Fostering an interconnected experience, visitors can enjoy immediate access to the grand plaza with a dry fountain and flowering tree promenade accentuating the gymnasium and amphitheater.
On the eastern side, users can unwind at the riverside park and feast their eyes on the waterfront view.
The property also boasts a mixed-use development of recreational space between the gymnasium and the Convention Center.
Moreover, innovative spaces will be available for various community engagement sessions: play and outdoor fitness areas, skate parks, grand lawns, and outdoor dining.
The careful planning of the area has a unique environment purposely intended to create a more sustainable site while maximizing connection to the outdoors.
Bagong Trece People’s Park is the much anticipated major civic and cultural center destination encouraging both tourism and investment in the city.
